Moroccanoil Texture Collection

Moroccanoil Dry Texture Spray Q and A’s

Q: How much hold should I expect with the Dry Texture Spray?

A: The Dry Texture Spray is a finishing spray for styles with carefree, textured volume. It can also be used as a prep spray to provide foundational grip needed for no-slip braids and up-styling. It makes the hair look great, but is not intended for hold. To maintain the look you create with Dry Texture Spray, finish with one of our fantastic aerosols, such as Luminous Hairspray Strong, for additional hold.

Q: Can I use the Dry Texture Spray like a dry shampoo?

A: People often use a dry shampoo because they want a little bit of extra grit to the hair that many dry shampoos on the market provide. While we understand how people could think it will have similar results as a dry shampoo, it’s important to know the difference.

Dry Texture Spray doesn’t have any cleansing agents like dry shampoos have. If someone is looking to actually absorb oils and cleanse the hair, they would need to use a dry shampoo such as Moroccanoil Dry Shampoo for Light Tones or Moroccanoil Dry Shampoo for Dark Tones. If someone is looking for some extra grit, texture and a little volume, they would use Dry Texture Spray. Layering dry shampoo and Dry Texture Spray if a fantastic way to get the best of both worlds!

Moroccanoil Beach Wave Mousse Q and A’s

Q: The Beach Wave Mouse is very sticky and can be felt in the hair. What is the proper application and use for this product?

A: Proper product knowledge is essential with this product! Here are a few tips to remember and try:

  1. A little bit goes a long way! It even says on the bottle “do not overuse.” Although this is a mousse, you don’t use the amount of product you would use with, for example, a volumizing mousse. A golf ball sized amount should be the starting point. Not much more will be needed the majority of the time.
  2. The wetter the hair, the less product you’ll feel. The dryer your hair is when you put in Beach Wave Mouse, the more product you’ll feel.
  3. Layering: Try prepping wet/damp hair first with Moroccanoil Treatment/Treatment Light for additional slip and less crunch. You could also use Hydrating Styling Cream or Smoothing Lotion, based on the needs of the hair or client.
  4. Scrunch into hair and air dry or defuse.

Moroccanoil Texture Clay Q and A’s

Q: What is the difference between Texture Clay and Molding Cream?

A: Texture Clay has a matte finish and a bit more hold than Molding Cream. Molding Cream has a bit of shine and less hold; make your best recommendation based off what your client is saying they want or need. The two can also be cocktailed together to get the best of both worlds!
